POSITION SUMMARY
The Parker Store Manager plans and directs the day-to-day operations of their Parker Store, works with the Director of Retail Operations to develop strategies to improve customer service, drive additional store sales, increase profitability by controlling costs, create store policies and marketing programs that will increase sales, and grow the existing customer base. Maintains high store standards and ensures that all customer needs are met, and service is quick and efficient.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Assist store walk-ins and telephone customers; help solve their industrial and mobile hose/fitting needs.
- Participate in promoting the store to customer base.
- Ability to troubleshoot and make suggestions for customer solutions.
- Participate in required training and acquire certifications as directed by management.
- Actively work with outside sales team and manufacturer representatives.
- Pull customer orders from stock according to purchase orders and/or shipping tickets.
- Fabrication of hydraulic and pneumatic hoses and associated fittings.
- Help maintain inventory levels in the store.
- Maintain merchandising within the store (rotating end caps, keeping displays full, clean, and organized, replenishing a product information library, keeping signage current, etc.)
- Do bulk picking, shipping, receiving, unloading trucks, and checking in merchandise.
- Sort and place merchandise on racks, shelves, or in bins according to bin codes or other predetermined order – type, size, color, etc.
- Pack and prepare orders for shipping and check packing lists.
- Record amounts of items received or distributed in inventory control system.
- Conduct cycle counts.
- Travel to various Parker store locations to serve as back-up support.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Experience with construction and/or industrial equipment is a plus.
- Background in the use of industrial hose crimping machines (Parker is our preferred model.)
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as purchase orders, shipping manifests, packing lists and/or shipping lists.
- Basic math skills with ability to count, add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
- Previous experience in a warehouse environment and experience with multi-carrier shipping systems preferred.
- Basic computer skills including use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Minimum of Associate's Degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or six months to one-year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Computer skills required: Inventory Software; Microsoft Office Suite; Payroll Systems.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical requirements for this position are typical for a medium work warehouse environment including frequent movement about the warehouse/office, climbing, standing, reaching, bending, kneeling, stooping, and lifting 50 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment for this position is typical for a warehouse including occasional exposure to loud noise and outside temperatures of heat/cold. The environment may occasionally include exposure to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, and working on scaffolding or high places.
