As a Milk Processing and Distribution Coordinator, you’ll play a hands-on role in ensuring donor human milk reaches hospitals and families safely, accurately, and on time. From preparing and packaging orders to maintaining supplies and supporting daily operations, this role is essential to delivering life-saving nutrition to hospitals and families when it’s needed most.

Important Details:

• Hourly Range: $22.00 per hour
• Full time: Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM; occasional overtime

What You’ll Do

Coordinate Critical Shipments

• Partner with the Recipient Coordinator to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment
• Prepare and coordinate daily milk shipments with precision and care
• Verify order details including quantities, lot numbers, and documentation
• Package and seal shipments according to strict safety and courier standards
• Ensure temperature-sensitive shipments are properly conditioned and ready for transport
• Assist with local deliveries as needed, ensuring safe and compliant transport

Keep Operations Running Smoothly

• Stage and prepare coolers with proper temperature controls
• Support end-of-day reconciliation to ensure every order is complete and documented
• Maintain clean, organized, and efficient work spaces

Manage Essential Supplies

• Monitor inventory of shipping materials (coolers, dry ice, labels, seals, etc.)
• Partner with internal teams to ensure supplies are always stocked and ready
• Proactively flag low inventory and assist with restocking

Ensure Quality & Compliance

• Follow all state, federal, and HMBANA guidelines
• Adhere to food safety and internal quality standards
• Maintain accurate records to support traceability and compliance.

What You Bring

Experience & Background

• Familiarity with safe handling, sanitation, or lab practices
• Experience in shipping, logistics, or inventory management
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Ability to follow procedures and uphold strict safety standards
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Clear and professional communication
• A team-first mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Sensitivity to the mission of donor milk banking and the families served
• Collaborate cross-functionally with teams
• Communicate operational issues or delays promptly to leadership
• Provide excellent customer service to vendors, couriers, and partners
• Maintain professional relationships with shipping vendors and delivery partners
• Represent the organization at community events or outreach activities as needed
