CR Operator

Basic Purpose: Responsible for entire Control/Systems operation including but not limited to receiving, roasting, grinding, bin management and scheduling, and for all quality aspects in control room/systems operations including but not limited to testing, test result documentation, traceability documentation, HACCP checks documentation and follow-up.

Essential Responsibilities / Specific Duties

• Set up green coffee receiving lines for receipt of green coffee and release bins based on authorization procedure.
• Set up flow and schedule of receiving, roasting and grinding including quality parameters managing bins to maximize capacity and production efficiency.
• Responsible for setting up coffee for packaging lines in a timely manner.
• Update blend formulas based on blend change procedures.
• Responsible for minor maintenance and troubleshooting for control room operation as well as communication of maintenance needs and follow-up.
• Communication of issues and status to supervisor, planner, quality, packaging operators and co-workers in control room. Recommend and implement suggestions to help improve process.
• Direction and training of support operator regarding control room operation support functions, housekeeping and other job responsibilities.
  
  

Responsible for upkeep of housekeeping and completion of master sanitation duties including but not limited to thermal cleaning of roaster, cleaning of pelletizer, and dust collection/chaff system cleaning.

Reporting Relationship

This position reports directly to Shift Supervisor and Lead, and does not have any direct reports.

Internal/External

This position interacts with all levels of management as well as personnel in Production, Warehouse and Shipping/Receiving and may come in contact with customers or potential customers during a facility tour.

Knowledge & Key Competencies

• Proficient in roasting and grinding operations.
• Overall knowledge of control room operations and sequence of events including Control Room Operations, Green Bean Receiving Operations and Packaging lines.
• Current applicable forklift certification as well as JLG lifts qualification.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions, and communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors.
• Proficient mathematical skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Microsoft Word and Excel knowledge is a plus.
• Maintain work area in clean and orderly fashion.
• Follow equipment and facility safety procedures and requirements.
• Perform other work related duties as assigned.
• Willing to work flexible hours.
• Ability to follow mandated safety procedures
• Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
