Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for dogs and other animals, including feeding, watering, and administering medication as directed
- Maintain clean and sanitary kennel areas through regular cleaning, disinfecting, and organizing supplies
- Assist with dog handling tasks, including walking, socializing, and monitoring behavior to ensure safety and comfort
- Perform animal restraint safely during grooming, veterinary procedures, or routine checks
- Support pet grooming activities such as bathing, brushing, and nail trimming to keep animals looking and feeling their best
- Offer pet sitting services by supervising animals in the kennel environment and ensuring their needs are met during their stay
- Collaborate with veterinary staff by assisting with basic veterinary technician tasks or supporting animal care procedures as needed
Skills
- Strong knowledge of dog training techniques and animal handling best practices
- Experience working in veterinary clinics or with veterinary technicians is highly desirable
- Proficiency in pet grooming, pet sitting, and general animal care routines
- Ability to handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques and understanding animal behavior signals
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and visitors
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting when moving supplies or assisting with large animals
