What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Generalist position at Moss Consulting HR Services?
About Moss Consulting HR Services
Moss Consulting HR Services provides modern, fractional HR support to small and mid-sized businesses across multiple U.S. markets. We manage all aspects of HR so business owners can focus on running and growing their companies.
We move fast, operate across all lanes, and maintain high accountability.
The Role
We have an immediate opening for an HR Generalist in Phoenix/Scottsdale.
This role is built for HR professionals seeking growth, variety, and impact—whether you’re already working fractionally or ready to expand your experience across multiple industries.
Most work is remote, but Moss Consulting offers Onsite HR Hours. This role requires flexibility, reliable transportation, and the ability to present professionally in client offices within our service markets.
What You’ll Do
- Support multiple client companies with day-to-day HR needs, including recruiting coordination, onboarding, employee changes, and offboarding
- Assist with employee relations matters by preparing documentation, tracking issues, and escalating concerns as needed
- Help maintain compliance by supporting policy updates, employee files, handbooks, and HR documentation
- Enter, update, and audit employee data across multiple payroll and HRIS platforms
- Communicate with employees and client contacts to answer routine HR questions and provide basic guidance
- Support senior HR team members with resolving HR issues and special projects across client organizations
- Learn and apply HR best practices across different industries and business environments
- Contribute to improving internal HR processes, templates, and systems through feedback and execution
Career Path & Growth
This role includes a clear path to:
- HR Manager
- Area HR Manager, with access to revenue share
Long-term employment, leadership development, and advancement are core to this position.
Ongoing professional development is required.
What We’re Looking For
- 2–4 years of hands-on HR experience
- Understanding of full-cycle HR, including recruiting
- High technical fluency: video calls, file sharing, security, multi-platform communication
- Active use of AI in daily workflows (required)
- High accountability, proactive communication, and comfort with ambiguity
- Desire to be challenged, mentored, and surrounded by high-performing peers
- Preferred: Experience working across multiple HR technologies, including HRIS, applicant tracking systems (ATS), and benefits administration platforms
If you are not already using AI in your workflow, this role is not a fit.
Be Sure You Are Ready
If you’re not sure you’re ready, this may not be the right place yet.
If you don’t thrive on constant challenge and regular testing of your skills, this may not be the right place ever.
If you don’t want highly collaborative, “nowhere to hide” accountability, our team is probably not a fit.
If you're not ready to be innovating new ways to approach HR and be a part of a team that is raising service level expectations with clients, there are likely other places where you would be more comfortable.
Pressure makes diamonds. We make no secret that this is how we operate.
If you’re ready—let’s go!
