Role Description
Website & Social Media Volunteer role based in Virginia or remotely. The volunteer will help maintain and update the campaign website, including posting new content, images, and announcements in a timely and accurate manner.
Day-to-day tasks include planning, drafting, and scheduling social media posts across platforms, monitoring engagement, and responding to comments or messages as appropriate.
The role will support digital outreach initiatives, coordinate with campaign staff on messaging, and help ensure consistency of brand, tone, and visuals.
The volunteer may also assist with basic analytics tracking, content calendars, and collaboration with field and communications teams to highlight events and key campaign issues.
The volunteer may also engage in other tasks including fundraising, political analysis and voter outreach according to mutual agreement.
Qualifications
- Experience or training in Social Media Marketing and Digital Marketing to support campaign outreach and engagement.
- Experience in Social Media Content Creation to develop compelling and consistent campaign messaging.
- Strong Communication skills, in writing, messaging, and appropriate online interaction with the public.
- Comfort with updating websites or using content management systems; basic understanding of web design or layout is a plus.
- May work remotely or in Virginia, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with political campaigns, civic engagement, or community organizing is helpful.
- Some understanding of issues related to justice, political positions and policy would be helpful.
- Willingness to learn campaign tools and follow campaign guidance, with a commitment to professionalism and confidentiality.
