Qualifications
- Current and valid Registered Nurse license required, with a Bachelor of Science nursing degree preferred.
- Ability to obtain a Washington State Educational Staff Associate (E.S.A.) School Nurse certification.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the district may find appropriate and acceptable.
- Strong ability to work cooperatively as a team member.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with parents, students, school personnel, and medical service providers.
- Communicates tactfully with students, parents, and staff personnel regarding health issues.
- Serves as a liaison between school personnel and medical services.
- Develop and manage Individualized Health Plans
- Train and supervise school staff in the administrating of medication per district policy.
- Train and act as a resource to school personnel regarding infections, disease, and immunizations.
- Monitors compliance with State mandated health screening and health education.
- Organize and maintain health-related documents. Ability to keep electronic records.
- Provides staff training/education/in-service on health and safety-related issues.
- Willingness to work modified school calendar and various hours.
- Willingness to train and supervise other licensed and non-licensed personnel.
- Must have excellent attendance.
- Other duties as assigned.
