Our award-winning design firm is seeking a Senior Accountant to help support the financial backbone of our practice. In this pivotal role, you’ll collaborate with the Controller and 5-person accounting department to ensure fiscal integrity, generate regular reports, manage cash flow, and provide forecasting and budget analysis.We’re looking for someone who understands the nuances of project-based accounting and can drive process efficiency and innovation. If you’re ready to bring your expertise to a firm where design meets discipline, we’d love to hear from you.Location: Richmond, VAQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field5 years of relevant accounting experienceCPA or CPA-track preferredPrevious experience in the architecture, engineering, and construction industry preferredResponsibilities:Support Controller in preparing monthly and annual financial statementsAssist with month-end and year-end close processesEnsure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policiesAssist with external audits and prepare supporting documentationMonitor project-level costs and financial performanceSupport budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysisContribute to process improvements, automation, and system enhancementsHelp manage cash flow and perform bank reconciliationsAssist with biweekly payroll processing and related journal entriesSupport consultant payment processingAdditional responsibilities assignedRequired Skills:Strong attention to detail and accuracyAbility to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environmentStrong communication and customer service skillsProficiency in accounting principlesSoftware Proficiency:Microsoft Office Suite experience required, with proficient knowledge of ExcelERP and financial reporting systems experience preferredCandidates for consideration must complete the application process through our website.
