Systems Engineer (Modeling and Simulation)

Systems Engineer to support the development of the Missile Defense Agency's (MDA's) Ground-Based Mid-course Defense (GMD) program on the GWS program
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, integrate, test, and deploy software products that support automated test and verification efforts
- Contribute to software development activities across the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements, design, development, integration, testing, and deployment
- Partner with product teams to develop technical solutions that support program objectives
- Support Agile development activities and participate in team execution using collaboration and configuration management tools
Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
- Active Secret Clearance required
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field from an accredited institution and 8 years of experience (Or Master's Degree in 6 years or PhD and 5 years)
- Experience estimating planning and scheduling Algorithm development and Analysis work for a technical team
- Recent and extensive MATLAB and Python Experience/ proficiency
- Demonstrated ability to rapidly learn and absorb new concepts
- Proven experience in developing, prototyping and evaluating complex algorithms
- Extensive background in mathematics or science
- Must be able to support an in-person/closed-area work environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with the Missile Defense Agency's Ground Based Mid Course Defense program
- Advanced degree in Mathematics or Physics
- Unix/Linux Operating System Experience
- Experience with planning/scheduling algorithms
- Experience with sensor modeling, communication modeling, and/or missile modeling
- Battle Management or Fire Control experience
- Experienced with Linux, scripting, and operations
