Aircraft Electrical / Avionics Technician

Responsibilities
- Support mission-critical military maintenance, repairs, and modifications, ensuring warfighter readiness through high-quality aircraft electrical and avionic system work.
- Perform bonding, resistance, and continuity checks; AC/DC power checks; and installation and routing of wiring and cable systems according to technical schematics and drawings.
- Conduct wiring termination, including connector pin/socket installation, splicing, shield ferrule/sleeve soldering and crimping, and coaxial connector work.
- Install fiber optics, coaxial cable, quadrax, and other specialized wiring.
- Use electrical and measuring tools such as megohmmeters, multimeters, environmental crimpers, and bond meters.
- Perform scheduled maintenance, troubleshooting, functional testing, and defect rectification on avionic and electrical systems.
- Complete air data testing, tool inventories, and daily inspections in compliance with safety protocols.
- Report technical issues and maintenance discrepancies, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain all necessary certifications, licenses, and required safety training.
- Support compliance with all regulatory and company requirements, including the Boeing Safety Management System.
- Collaborate effectively within a diverse and inclusive team environment and flexibly adapt to meet delivery timelines.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required.
- Clearance Requirements: Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience as an Aircraft Mechanic (commercial, defense, or relevant trade apprenticeship).
- Technical Skills:
- Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and specifications.
- Skilled with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Knowledge of general aircraft maintenance and processes, including Human Factors, FOD control, tool control, and health & safety protocols.
- Work Requirements:
- Ability to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, with potential for scheduled and unscheduled overtime.
- Ability to lift, climb, and perform physical duties within aircraft maintenance environments.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- FAA Airframe and/or Power Plant Certification.
- Familiarity with maintenance procedures and standards such as COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health).
