Job Description

Morton is seeking a Quality Assurance Test Automation Engineer to join a high-performing Application Development team supporting a large-scale modernization initiative. This individual will be responsible for developing and executing automated testing solutions, creating test plans and test cases, and contributing to the ongoing enhancement of the organization's test automation framework.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience with automated testing tools, performance testing, and Agile software development environments. This role offers the opportunity to help improve software quality and accelerate delivery through effective test automation and continuous testing practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts and test cases.
• Create comprehensive test plans and testing strategies aligned with project objectives and business requirements.
• Maximize test coverage across critical system functionality.
• Develop and execute functional, integration, regression, performance, and load testing scenarios.
• Expand and enhance existing test automation frameworks and processes.
• Identify, document, track, and validate software defects.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and project teams throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Provide timely feedback on software quality within Agile development cycles.
• Monitor testing metrics and generate test reports for project stakeholders.
• Support the stability and reliability of testing environments.
  
  

Required Qualifications:

• 4 years of hands-on Software Quality Assurance experience.
• 2 years of experience with test automation tools and frameworks.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Strong experience creating, executing, and automating test plans.
• Working knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Experience with:
• Selenium
• JMeter
• Java and/or Python
• Ability to define and execute comprehensive testing strategies.
• Experience working in cross-functional Agile teams.
• Strong understanding of test environment management and maintenance.
• Experience defining and tracking testing KPIs and quality metrics.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 6 years of Software Quality Assurance experience.
• 4 years of experience with test automation technologies.
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Extensive knowledge of software testing methodologies and best practices.
• Advanced understanding of the full Software Development Life Cycle.
• Experience mentoring or coaching junior QA team members.
• Expertise in performance and load testing strategy development.
• Experience reviewing and improving automated test code quality.
• Experience with mock frameworks such as Mockito or JMockit.
• Advanced proficiency with Java and/or Python.
• Experience identifying project risks and recommending mitigation strategies.
• Proven ability to drive process improvements within QA organizations.
