Shift Lead Warehouse/Equipment Operator - Second Shift

Job Summary

This position will lead the Cincinnati Warehouse 2nd Shift operations including but not limited to; the packaging system, buildings, and warehouse equipment under the supervision of the management team. The position will act as a team member in the production and warehousing of finished products. Operate Front End Loader and forklifts as needed. Communicate with management to maintain smooth operations and transition across shifts.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Assist in organizing and leading operations for the facility during the 2nd shift.
• Assist in training and coordination of personnel to ensure safety and operational procedures are completed properly.
• Assist management in other duties as assigned to maintain a safe and productive work environment for the site.
• Support site management in the goal of the Safety Journey, to obtain interdependence in the safety culture.
• Perform all warehousing work in a safe and efficient manner. This includes complying with all Health and Safety programs, policies and procedures established by State/Federal Law, Corporate directives and/or the Cincinnati Facility.
• Hold the safety of oneself and others, be it Morton Salt employees, contractors and visitors, in the highest regard.
• Operate all mobile material-handling equipment per the manufacturer’s specifications, OSHA regulations and Company policies. (These include forklifts, front-end loader, electric and manual pallet jacks.)
• Operate bag-filling and sealing equipment in a safe and efficient manner while producing a finished packaged product.
• Ensure bag weights are correct, date and lot code are present on produced product.
• Palletize, stretch-wrap, and label product being produced in a safe and efficient manner.
• Operate all bulk-loading equipment and conveying systems (Bulk Rock, K-Mix, etc.) to load pneumatic and open style trucks when needed.
• Exercise good warehousing practices for both bulk and packaged products to maximize storage availability.
• Assist with minor maintenance activities when required or requested.
• Actively engage in good housekeeping and cleanup activities as part of everyday job performance and to include buildings, floors, property and equipment.
• Perform any other miscellaneous and reasonable duties and functions assigned or directed by the Warehouse Supervisor or Manager.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Maintain written records of safety, quality and production inspections.
• Follow both verbal and written instructions.
• Operation of a variety of production equipment.
• Communication and the inter-personal skills necessary to interact with co-workers, supervisors, truck drivers and customers sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
• Knowledge of Safety rules and regulations.
• Certified Forklift Operator or ability to certify within 30 days.
• Front end loader experience a plus.
• Ability to lift 50lbs frequently.
• You must have reliable transportation to and from work.
