The Auto Packaging Equipment Operator is responsible for the efficient and safe operation of automated bagging equipment on 2nd shift. This role involves ensuring productivity, resolving equipment issues to minimize downtime, and maintaining effective communication with team members.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Operate automated packaging equipment efficiently and safely.
- Inspect, perform minor repairs, and adjust various equipment, including production and mobile equipment, and report malfunctions to a supervisor.
- Responsible for start-up, shut down, and operating the equipment as directed.
- Perform general facility cleaning, painting, minor maintenance, and repairs.
- Complete operating records and mobile equipment inspection checklists accurately.
- Observe and adhere to all Federal, State, and Company safety regulations.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and maintain associated records.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area; ensure good housekeeping practices.
- Report any damage, defective bags, or spillage to supervision immediately.
- Perform lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures as required.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned related to the job.
- Prior experience with packaging and mobile equipment preferred.
- Minimum of 1 to 5 years of experience in a production packaging environment.
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Ability to operate equipment safely and maintain good housekeeping practices.
- Familiarity with Lock Out/Tag Out Policy and Procedures.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with line personnel.
- Ability to work overtime as necessary.
- Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including hard hats, steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, hi-visibility apparel, and gloves.
- Work in varying temperatures and humidity levels; environment includes noise and dust.
- Perform tasks around moving machinery and energized power cables.
- Regularly required to sit or stand, reach, and move about the facility.
- Able to pull, push, and lift 50lb.
