They provide comprehensive tax planning and assurance services to a diverse portfolio of business and high-net-worth individual clients. The are seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join their team.
Role Description
The Senior Staff Accountant is a full-time, on-site role based in Woodbury, NY (Long Island). Key responsibilities include preparing and reviewing financial statements, reconciling accounts, maintaining general ledger operations, and supporting financial audits and tax filing processes. The position entails performing variance analyses, managing accounts payable and receivable, assisting with budgeting processes, and ensuring compliance with accounting policies and regulations. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and providing financial insights to support decision-making are also integral parts of the role.
Key Responsibilities:
· Prepare & Review Federal and State tax returns (C-Corp, S-Corp, Partnership, Individual).
· Perform tax research to resolve issues and provide planning opportunities.
· Maintain frequent, direct contact with clients and manage day-to-day relationships.
· Train, mentor, and review work of junior staff accountants.
· Assist in identifying and onboarding new clients.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance;
- Active CPA license strongly preferred.
- 5 years of recent public accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of CCH Axcess, Engagement, QBO is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing junior staff
