We’re looking for an experienced, energetic Pizza Cook who knows how to handle dough, manage an oven, stay cool during a rush, and take pride in every pizza that leaves the kitchen.

No sad slices. No sloppy toppings. Just great pizza made by great people.

What You’ll Be Doing

Making the Magic

• Stretching, shaping, topping, and preparing Roman-style and round pizzas
• Following Mortadella Head recipes, portions, and presentation standards
• Properly portioning, proofing, storing, and handling dough
• Making sure every pizza is built consistently and with care
• Preparing pizzas for dine-in, takeout, delivery, and catering orders

Running the Oven

• Managing oven temperatures, cook times, and pizza flow
• Making sure pizzas are cooked evenly with the right color, texture, and crispness
• Keeping orders moving efficiently during busy service
• Coordinating with the kitchen team so every order comes out accurately and on time
• Staying calm and focused when the tickets start flying

Protecting the Quality

• Checking ingredients for freshness and proper preparation
• Inspecting every pizza before it leaves the kitchen
• Making sure toppings, portions, and presentation meet Mortadella Head standards
• Following all food safety, sanitation, and allergen procedures
• Rotating and storing ingredients properly using FIFO procedures

Owning Your Station

• Keeping the pizza station clean, organized, stocked, and ready for service
• Completing opening, closing, and cleaning responsibilities
• Preparing sauces, cheese, toppings, and other ingredients as needed
• Assisting with slicing, portioning, and light kitchen prep
• Communicating with managers when ingredients or supplies are running low
• Supporting the rest of the kitchen team wherever needed

You’ll Be Great at This Job If You:

• Have previous pizza-making or high-volume kitchen experience
• Understand dough handling, proofing, stretching, and oven management
• Can work quickly without sacrificing quality
• Have strong attention to detail and pride in your work
• Stay organized during busy shifts
• Communicate clearly with cooks, cashiers, and managers
• Bring a positive attitude and team-first mindset
• Are dependable and show up ready to work
• Are available to work nights and weekends
• Are comfortable occasionally working in a freezer environment throughout the day

Experience with Roman-style pizza is a plus, but we’re open to training the right pizza maker who has strong fundamentals, a great attitude, and a willingness to learn the Mortadella Head way.

Physical Requirements

This position may require you to:

• Stand and move around for most of your shift
• Bend, reach, twist, and perform repetitive movements
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Safely use pizza ovens, knives, slicers, mixers, and other kitchen equipment
• Work around hot ovens, cold storage areas, flour, and wet surfaces
• Enter walk-in coolers and freezer areas periodically
• Maintain a steady pace in a busy restaurant environment
