We are currently looking for a 2nd Shift Brake Press Operator for our Bloomington, Minnesota facility. This position is five days per week: Monday – Thursday, 6:45 AM – 3:15 PM)

Position Overview:
This position is operating a brake press on the 2nd shift. This person will not be performing setups, but running established jobs that are proven out on a brake press. Operation power brake to bend, form, or straighten metal plates or sheet metal and structural shapes to blueprint or sketch specifications. Operating machinery to produce piece parts. Inspecting parts for conformance to specifications, visually or using gauges or templates, and may adjust machine to correct errors. Keeping work area clean and organized.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Operating brake press to bend, form, or straighten piece parts.
- Handling parts and packaging them to maintain surface finish quality.
- Maintaining the work area and equipment and following prescribed safety policies, understanding pinch points and other safety hazards related to brake press operation.
- Wearing protective attire, such as safety eye glasses, steel-toed shoes and gloves
- Reading blueprints to understand dimensions and tolerances.
- Using inspection equipment to measure parts to precise dimensions.
Required Skills / Experience:
- Must have High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Some experience using hand tools.
- Ability to lift and/or carry up to 25 pounds and over.
- Must be able to meet physical demands of the job with or without accommodation.
- Experience in or knowledge of blueprint reading.
- Ability to communicate with supervisors and / or peers both in both written and verbal formats.
- Must be able to use a computer.
- Most be able to stand and / or sit for long periods of time.
- Knowledge of geometric tolerancing.
- Must be able to adjust to varying climates (hot / cold)
