Overview
Morris Yacht & Beach Club is seeking a reliable Kitchen Assistant / Prep Cook to support our kitchen team with daily operations, food prep, private events, and general kitchen organization. This position is ideal for someone who is hardworking, dependable, clean, and comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Responsibilities include assisting with basic food preparation, organizing ingredients, helping set up for service and events, maintaining a clean work area, washing dishes or kitchen equipment as needed, and supporting the chef or kitchen lead during busy shifts.
Experience in a kitchen is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person. Reliability, cleanliness, and a positive attitude are most important.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and organize ingredients for service and events
- Assist with basic cooking and kitchen prep
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen/workstation
- Help with dishwashing and kitchen cleanup as needed
- Follow food safety and sanitation standards
- Assist the chef or kitchen lead during events and busy service periods
- Help receive, store, and organize deliveries when needed.
Requirements
- Kitchen or food prep experience preferred
- Must be reliable and punctual
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to lift and carry kitchen supplies as needed
- Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and events
- Strong work ethic and willingness to help wherever needed
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
