Morris Heights Health Center is seeking a Community Liaison / Driver to support our outreach, marketing, and community engagement efforts. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being in the community, building relationships, supporting health access, and ensuring outreach events are well-organized and fully prepared.
The Community Liaison / Driver will serve as both a frontline community ambassador and a logistical support resource for outreach events, campaigns, and community-based initiatives. This position will also include operating MHHC’s mobile van to support outreach events and service delivery in the community.
Key Responsibilities Include:The Community Liaison / Driver will:Participate in community outreach events, health fairs, tabling activities, and public engagements to promote MHHC services.Engage community members to identify healthcare needs and provide accurate information about MHHC programs and services.Support outreach campaigns and community health initiatives.Secure appointment leads and referrals for MHHC services through direct community engagement.Conduct outreach to prospective patients to support appointment scheduling and follow-up needs, as appropriate.Operate MHHC’s mobile van in support of outreach events, community initiatives, and offsite activities.Transport outreach materials, marketing equipment, and supplies to and from community events, MHHC sites, and offsite locations.Assist with outreach event setup, breakdown, and logistical coordination.Ensure outreach vehicles, equipment, and materials are safely loaded, secured, and transported.Monitor assigned vehicle condition, cleanliness, fuel levels, and report maintenance or safety concerns timely.Represent MHHC professionally and courteously in all community-facing interactions.Maintain accurate documentation related to outreach activities, appointment leads, referrals, vehicle use, mileage, and event support.Work collaboratively with the Marketing and Community Affairs teams to support organizational outreach goals.
Qualifications:Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Marketing, Social Services, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred.
License/Certification: Valid Commercial Driver’s License required. Candidate must be eligible and able to safely operate MHHC’s mobile van and comply with all applicable vehicle safety, organizational, and transportation requirements.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in community outreach, customer service, healthcare, logistics, transportation, or nonprofit settings. Candidates without post-secondary education should have at least 3–4 years of directly related experience.Required Skills and Abilities:Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to engage diverse communities with professionalism, respect, and cultural sensitivity.Strong organizational and time management skills.Ability to balance community outreach responsibilities with transportation and logistical duties.Basic computer proficiency, including email communication and data entry.Knowledge of safe driving practices and ability to follow transportation protocols.Ability to accurately document outreach activities, transportation-related data, mileage, and vehicle usage.Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed for outreach events and community initiatives.Ability to stand, walk, and participate in field-based outreach for extended periods.Ability to lift, carry, and load materials up to 25 pounds.Why Join MHHC?At Morris Heights Health Center, our work is rooted in service, access, equity, and community partnership.
