Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Provides regularly scheduled weekly supervision to all supervisees and discusses/develops professional development plans.
  • A ctively strategizes with staff on reaching performance measures/benchmarks and expected work performance, manages supervisee’s work behavior, nurtures, and holds staff accountable with any corrective action needed.
  • Monitors program tools findings of families for appropriate interventions, while integrating the assessment; addresses engagement and retention of families.
  • Performs diligent Quality assurance activities such as: ensuring observations of CHW and family visits every quarter, quarterly supervision rates of at least 85% per worker, conducts 85% of QA case record reviews quarterly, 100% QA telephone calls to families for every CHW supervised per quarter, ensures participant satisfactions surveys are completed, prepares for funders observations/site visits, and participates in developing community partnerships, monitors staff while in the field, etc.
  • Reviews and ensures accuracy of data system and preparing reports on a monthly and quarterly basis, with recommendations for improvements or changes.
  • Reviews and approves weekly paperwork submitted by staff and ensures records are up-to-date.
  • As a key leader in the program, the supervisor has a flexible schedule to monitor staff in the field during unconventional hours or weekends.
  • Demonstrates leadership and participates in hiring, orientation, training, staff meetings, events or workshops.
  • Assesses staff competency for continued training, completes competency based performance appraisals, and participates in program’s improvement planning.
  • Maintains a work environment that provides maximum safety and promotes an open door policy.
  • Completes thorough and accurate documentation on a timely basis and ensures productivity.
  • Participates in training and applies learning, professional development planning and at least monthly supervision.
  • Monitors the program data collection and may perform data entry tasks. When necessary supervisor may carry a caseload or back up CHW with families.
  • Displays initiative to work independently, is a self-starter; exhibits tactfulness, and flexible behaviors.
  • Program Supervisor ensures implementation of policies and procedures and maintains fidelity to the Healthy Start Program model. Follows and implements center and program’s policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate motivation and the ability to learn and practice basic supportive skills. Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Reports to Program Director.

Qualifications

Minimum Education/Experience Required: (Required)

Bachelors degree in human services or fields related to working with children and families.

English And Language Ability

Ability to write assessments, progress notes, weekly supervision, monthly report and general correspondence related to participants. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors, participants, funders, other organizations, and the general public.

Foreign Language Ability

Ability to converse with participants in a language other than English (French, Spanish)

Mathematical Ability

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, decimals and percentages.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Word.
