What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Records Coder position at Morrill County Community Hospital?
Review and code inpatient, outpatient, clinic, and ancillary services accurately and efficiently.
Assign appropriate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes based on medical documentation.
Review medical records for completeness, accuracy, and coding compliance.
Work closely with Health Information Management, providers, and other departments to clarify documentation when needed.
Ensure coding practices meet applicable regulatory and payer requirements.
Maintain confidentiality and protect patient health information in accordance with HIPAA.
Stay current with coding guidelines, regulations, and industry changes.
