The Bartender – Beverage is responsible for preparing and serving beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, to guests and cocktail servers in a high-volume casino environment. This position ensures proper alcohol service in accordance with TIPS certification and delivers outstanding 4-Diamond guest service at all times.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for guests at the bar and for cocktail servers, adhering to standard recipes and presentation guidelines.
- Draws draft beer, pours bottled beer, and serves wine and spirits with accuracy and efficiency.
- Delivers exceptional guest service by engaging guests courteously and professionally.
- Ensures compliance with ABC regulations, RBS guidelines, internal policies, and service standards.
- Maintains accurate inventory and communicates stock needs to management.
- Accepts and processes payments for drinks and services from guests and cocktail servers.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of bar, including washing glassware and sanitizing bar tools and counters.
- Verifies guest identification to ensure compliance with alcohol service laws and adheres to all ABC regulations, RBS training standards, and internal policies.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities but may provide guidance or support to other team members.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong knowledge of beverage preparation, cost control, and bar operations.
- Ability to multitask and perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Must possess a high regard for guest service and demonstrate professionalism.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with California ABC laws and responsible beverage service.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Completion of bartending school or related hospitality training is a plus.
- Minimum of 1–2 years of bartending experience in a high-volume bar, restaurant, or hospitality environment.
- Strong knowledge of drink recipes, mixology techniques, and responsible alcohol service.
- Experience handling cash, operating POS systems, and balancing cash drawers.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain a professional demeanor in fast-paced settings.
- Prior experience in a casino, resort, or upscale venue preferred.
- Must meet state or local requirements for responsible beverage service certification.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS:
Must have successfully completed a background check and obtained a gaming license issued by the Morongo Gaming Agency, as required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Must be able to read and interpret documents in English, such as instructions, guidelines, policies, and procedures. Must also be able to communicate clearly and effectively with team members, management, and guests.

This is a dynamic, fast-paced environment that requires the ability to adapt and perform under pressure. The casino operates with moderate to loud noise levels and is a smoking environment, requiring team members to work comfortably in these conditions.
WORKING HOURS:
Morongo Casino Resort & Spa operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year; therefore, flexibility in scheduling is essential. Team members must be available to work shifts that may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events. Schedules are subject to change based on business needs and may include overtime, as well as work on both weekdays and weekends.
