The SS Badger is a coal-fired passenger and vehicle ferry that has been in service on Lake Michigan since 1953. The ship shuttles between Ludington, Michigan, and Manitowoc, Wisconsin, 62 miles, connecting U.S. Highway 10 between those two cities.
We have an exciting opportunity for Auto Attendants for Lake Michigan Carferry. Starting pay for this role is $13.00/hour. This position also receives holiday pay, 401K, and the opportunity to earn an end-of-season bonus of $0.50 for every hour worked. Currently hiring for the 2025 season. Job Summary:
This shore position is responsible for the loading and unloading of passenger vehicles onto the Badger in the safest but fastest manner possible. The hours for this position are flexible. You can work mornings only, evenings only or both if you choose! Additional responsibilities include handling passenger’s baggage, assisting navigation during docking, the removal of garbage and recycling from the car deck, shoreside maintenance, and grounds keeping of LMC property.
Auto Attendants play a key role for our customers' experience every day and must provide professional, friendly, and courteous guest interactions and guest services. In addition to maintaining our vision by adhering to our values, this position must provide the highest level of service to our guests while maintaining a professional and friendly demeanor.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Must be able to move at a fast pace to get cars on and off the ship efficiently.
- Help keep property cleaned and maintained
- Providing excellent Customer Service
- Maintaining a professional and fun work environment
- Emptying Trash cans into dumpsters (Must be able to lift 50 lbs)
- Help maintain a secure work environment
