What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fashion Apparel Production Assistant (full-time) position at Morgane Le Fay?
Morgane Le Fay is a New York City based luxury fashion company. We are currently seeking a production assistant to join our team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in managing team of in-house sewers & cutters
- Issue cutting tickets and coordinate cutting schedule
- Plan & maintain schedule of overall production
- Meet standard of quality and timeliness in execution of production
- Maintain foresight of sell through and fabric inventories in order to meet re-order deadlines
- Coordinate relationships with outside vendors and factory contractors
- Facilitate to plan & allocate finished product for retail
- Maintain reporting on a daily basis across multiple topics
- Create, submit and follow up on purchase orders for timely payment
- Assure maintenance, repair and housekeeping of all production equipment/areas
- Coordinate attendance calendar and payroll for the department
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Knowledge and skill in product design with knowledge of technical development, including textiles and construction
- Ability to manage and lead by example in a team environment professionally and effectively, has a versatile skill set
- Ability to research, seek out, and communicate to new production resources
- Strong analytical, communication, interpersonal, written and verbal skills
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum 1 years experience in Production management or related field
- Experience in high quality womenswear
- Shopify experience a plus
- Bilingual (English-Spanish) a plus
