Role Summary
The Maintenance Manager will serve as a key member of the plant’s leadership team and be responsible for leading the maintenance and reliability efforts across the production facility. The role focuses on creating and executing a proactive maintenance strategy, improving equipment uptime, optimizing asset life, and supporting lean manufacturing principles.
Key Responsibilities

Lead maintenance operations including installation, repair, and safe operation of processing and packaging equipment, ensuring full compliance with regulatory standards (OSHA, FDA, GMP, NFPA, NEC, etc.).

Collaborate with operations and production leadership to establish metrics such as uptime, reliability, and efficiency.

Develop and deploy a reliability and maintenance program including predictive & preventive maintenance, TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and root cause analysis.

Maintain control of spare parts inventory, contractor/vendor relationships, and maintenance budget to optimize cost and asset availability.

Lead, mentor and develop a team of supervisors, planners, and technicians—ensuring staffing, training, and performance management across 24/7 operations as needed.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime, improve equipment performance, and extend equipment life through data-driven strategies.

Interface with cross-functional teams (engineering, quality assurance, operations, safety) to ensure maintenance supports production goals and regulatory requirements.

Handle capital project maintenance planning, major equipment upgrades, and strategic asset replacement decisions as required.

Other duties as assigned by plant leadership.
Qualifications & Requirements

Typically 7 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment (food, beverage or high-volume consumer goods) with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role.

Proven experience in leading maintenance teams, implementing reliability-centered maintenance programs, and managing maintenance budgets.

Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, automation (PLC/VFD), instrumentation, and ability to lead troubleshooting efforts.

Experience with CMMS systems, maintenance data/analytics, as well as Lean, Six Sigma or TPM methodologies preferred.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology or related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience considered.

Excellent communication, leadership, project management, and organizational skills.

Comfortable working in a regulated production environment and aligning maintenance operations with food-safety and quality assurance standards.
