Job Purpose:
- The Material Handler at Morgan Steel LLC is responsible for efficiently managing the movement and storage of materials within the facility. This role ensures that materials are accurately received, stored, and distributed to support production and operational needs, maintaining the highest standards of safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and inspect incoming materials, verifying the accuracy of shipments against purchase orders and packing lists.
- Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to move and store materials in designated areas.
- Maintain accurate inventory records by updating the inventory management system with received and issued materials.
- Collaborate with the production team to ensure timely delivery of materials to support ongoing operations.
- Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure inventory accuracy and report any discrepancies to management.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
- Assist in the loading and unloading of trucks, ensuring materials are handled with care to prevent damage.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance material handling processes and efficiency.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and resolve any material-related issues.
Qualifications:
Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a warehouse or material handling environment.
- Experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Familiarity with inventory management and control processes.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to lift and move heavy materials safely and efficiently.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
