Job Title: Senior Sales Executive
Reports to: Vice-President of Sales
Position Status: Exempt
GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:
Morgan Li is seeking a results-driven Senior Sales Executive to join our dynamic sales team. This role is focused on selling into two core verticals: retail store fixtures and custom hospitality bedroom furniture for student housing and related markets. This is a hunter-style role—best suited for individuals who thrive on building new relationships, proactively pursuing opportunities, and driving top-line revenue growth.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter with experience in manufacturing sales, excellent communication skills, and a mastery of consultative selling techniques. You will be responsible for generating and closing new business through outbound lead generation, responding to inbound RFPs, and managing the full sales cycle using our proven 4-Step Sales Process.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead Generation & Prospecting:
Identify, pursue, and develop new business opportunities within the retail fixture and hospitality furniture markets. - Inbound RFP Response Management:
Respond to and win RFPs from prospective clients by leveraging deep product knowledge and strategic insight. - Sales Process Execution:
Use Morgan Li’s 4-Step Sales Process to guide prospects through the buying journey:
- Introduce Morgan Li, establishing credibility and relevance.
- Conduct Fact-Finding sessions to identify client pain points and strategic needs.
- Develop & Present Customized Solutions that directly address client concerns and opportunities.
- Close Sales, skillfully overcoming objections and securing long-term client relationships.
- Account Management Transition:
Once business is secured, work with internal teams to transition the account smoothly into project management and execution. - Market & Competitive Intelligence:
Stay informed on industry trends, customer challenges, and competitor activity to position Morgan Li as the vendor of choice. - Sales Reporting & CRM Management:
Maintain up-to-date records in the CRM system and report on sales activity, pipeline, and forecasts.
REASONING ABILITY:
- Strong understanding and hands-on experience with the following:
- Sales pipeline and opportunity qualification
- GAP analysis, quote entry, order entry, and custom entry
- Forecasting, demand entry (EDI), and project entry
- Scheduling, case management, and RMA processing
- CRM platforms and Office 365 applications
- Change orders, record retention, and miscellaneous charges
- Design complexity and understanding of manufacturing capabilities
- Material requirements (MTL) and lead time planning
- Stage gate process (including reaffirmation checkpoints)
- Familiarity with M: Drive, PDM systems, and applications of AI in sales enablement
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus but not required
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- 7 years of B2B sales experience, preferably in the manufacturing, retail fixture, or contract furniture industry.
- Proven success in a new business development role with a hunter mentality.
- Deep understanding of solution selling and long sales cycles.
- Experience with RFP responses and large-scale project quoting.
- Strong presentation, negotiation, and objection-handling skills.
- Ability to travel as needed to meet clients and attend industry events.
- Proficient in using CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
