We are seeking an experienced and motivated Paralegal to join our Probate & Estate Administration Department. This is an urgent hiring need, and the successful candidate must be available to start no later than Monday, August 24, 2026.
Position Overview
As a Probate & Estate Administration Paralegal, you will assist attorneys in handling probate and estate administration matters from inception through completion. The ideal candidate has experience working with New York Surrogate's Court procedures, is highly organized, and can effectively manage multiple matters in a fast-paced legal environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and file probate petitions, administration petitions, notices, inventories, accountings, and other Surrogate's Court filings.
- Draft legal correspondence and court documents under attorney supervision.
- Manage probate and estate administration matters from opening through closing.
- Track court deadlines and ensure timely filings.
- Communicate professionally with clients, the Surrogate's Court, financial institutions, government agencies, and other third parties.
- Maintain organized and accurate electronic and physical case files.
- Assist attorneys with all aspects of probate, estate administration, and related Surrogate's Court proceedings.
- Coordinate with court personnel regarding filings, citations, and scheduling.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Probate & Estate Administration.
- Experience with New York Surrogate's Court procedures is required.
- Strong knowledge of probate and estate administration practices.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management software (experience with Clio is a plus).
- Paralegal certificate or equivalent legal education preferred.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.

Salary : $65,000 - $72,000
