Morgan Hunter has partnered with a rapidly growing, financially strong service company seeking a driven Controller to join its leadership team. The Controller will serve as a hands-on leader, strengthening financial reporting, improving processes and controls, developing the accounting team, and providing executives with meaningful financial insight.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting operations, including the general ledger, month-end close, and financial reporting
• Produce timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow reporting, and financial planning
• Oversee project and service billing, revenue recognition, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and treasury
• Establish and maintain effective internal controls, accounting policies, and operating procedures
• Partner with executive and operational leaders to evaluate profitability, performance, and business trends
• Deliver financial analysis that supports strategic planning and informed decision-making
• Coordinate external audits, tax filings, and regulatory compliance
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes, enhance reporting, and improve operational efficiency
• Mentor and develop accounting staff while building a scalable, high-performing team

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA preferred
• Four or more years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities
• Construction, project-based accounting, shared services, or similar fast-paced industry experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and the complete accounting cycle
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and operational analysis
• Excellent analytical, organizational, leadership, and communication skills
• Ability to thrive in a growing, entrepreneurial environment
• Strong desire to develop professionally and assume increasing levels of responsibility
