The Controller will serve as a hands-on leader, strengthening financial reporting, improving processes and controls, developing the accounting team, and providing executives with meaningful financial insight.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all accounting operations, including the general ledger, month-end close, and financial reporting
- Produce timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow reporting, and financial planning
- Oversee project and service billing, revenue recognition, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and treasury
- Establish and maintain effective internal controls, accounting policies, and operating procedures
- Partner with executive and operational leaders to evaluate profitability, performance, and business trends
- Deliver financial analysis that supports strategic planning and informed decision-making
- Coordinate external audits, tax filings, and regulatory compliance
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes, enhance reporting, and improve operational efficiency
- Mentor and develop accounting staff while building a scalable, high-performing team
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA preferred
- Four or more years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities
- Construction, project-based accounting, shared services, or similar fast-paced industry experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and the complete accounting cycle
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and operational analysis
- Excellent analytical, organizational, leadership, and communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a growing, entrepreneurial environment
- Strong desire to develop professionally and assume increasing levels of responsibility
