We’re partnering with a growing, project-based organization seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead a collaborative accounting team and help drive financial visibility across the business. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys leadership, process improvement, and partnering closely with operations to support project performance and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead, mentor, and develop an accounting team by providing guidance, setting priorities, and driving accountability across day-to-day operations
• Oversee the month-end close process, ensuring accurate financial reporting and timely completion of reconciliations and supporting schedules
• Manage project and job cost accounting processes, ensuring labor, expenses, materials, and overhead are accurately allocated and tracked
• Support preparation and review of monthly financial statements and operational reporting packages
• Partner closely with operational leaders and project teams to provide financial insight, reporting, and analysis related to project performance
• Analyze project profitability, budget-to-actual variances, and cost trends to support business decision-making
• Identify and implement process improvements related to accounting workflows, reporting, controls, and system efficiencies
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, audit support, and year-end activities
• Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies and procedures while maintaining strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Participate in special projects and initiatives tied to operational growth and financial process enhancements
Qualifications:
• 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including prior leadership or team management responsibility
• Strong background in project accounting, job costing, or operational accounting environments
• Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff in a fast-paced setting
• Strong understanding of month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and budgeting processes
• Advanced Excel skills and experience working within ERP/accounting systems preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively across departments and translate financial data into operational insight
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
