What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tax Manager position at Morgan Human Capital Management?
The Tax Manager provides advice and counsel on tax-related matters to business decision makers and helps ensure compliance with US tax law at the federal and state levels.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage the preparation of annual and quarterly US-GAAP financial statements and tax reports; ensure that reports are accurate and submitted on a timely basis.
- Provide advice on tax matters to the business leaders and internal stakeholders.
- Develop responses to inquiries by internal and external auditors that pertain to matters within the area of responsibility.
- Perform calculations and compile documentation as part of interim and annual accounting for taxes, estimated payment filings, and tax planning.
- Analyze and interpret new tax legislation and regulations, reporting requirements, and court and regulatory agency decisions and similar events to identify potential impacts to the business and options for mitigation.
- Support special projects and initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting is required for this position; an advanced degree in accounting or taxation and/or CPA license is a strong plus.
- 10 years of experience preparing corporate tax returns, both state and federal are necessary; some of this experience may have been acquired in positions such as tax analyst, financial analyst, tax accountant, auditor, or similar role.
- Expert-level knowledge of US GAAP that pertain to corporate taxes including a solid understanding of ASC 740 is essential.
- Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing using terminology and content at a level that is appropriate for the recipients.
- Advanced technology skills, including proficiency in Excel and SAP are expected.
Salary : $150,000 - $170,000
