JOB TITLE: ELEVATE GEAR UP Success Coach
JOB SUMMARY:
The ELEVATE GEAR UP Success Coach will play a pivotal role in supporting the academic, social-emotional, and college/career readiness development of middle and high school students within a targeted district. Beginning with the 6th and 7th-grade cohort in the 2025-2026 school year, the Success Coach will provide guidance and mentorship throughout the students' academic journey, continuing through their first year of post-secondary education. This position requires a passionate, dedicated individual with at least 60 college credit hours and experience working with youth, especially in rural, educational settings. The Success Coach will support students in navigating academic challenges, building resilience, and preparing for post-secondary success, all while fostering strong relationships with families and community partners.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- STUDENT SUPPORT: Provide personalized academic support, social-emotional coaching, and college/career readiness guidance to studfents, assistant them in setting and achieving their educational and personal goals.
- DATA COLLECTION & ANALYSIS: Regularly track and assess student progress through data collection and analysis, using insights to refine and improve support services and ensure students meet their academic and post-secondary readiness milestones.
- FOSTERING COLLEGE-GOING CULTURE: Promote a college-going culture within the school community, encouraging students to pursue higher education and equipping them with the tools, knowledge, and mindset to succeed.
- RELATIONSHIP BUILDING: Develop strong, trusting relationships with students, families, and community partners to ensure holistic support and create a network of resources for student success.
- PROGRAM EVALUATION: Collaborate with the ELEVATE GEAR UP team to evaluate program effectiveness, identify areas for improvement, and contribute to continuous program enhancements.
- MENTORSHIP: Serve as a mentor and role model for students, providing encouragement, guidance, and advocacy to help them overcome barriers to success.
- PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in student support, social-emotional learning, and college readiness.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of 60 college credit hours, with a background in education, social work, psychology, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience working with youth, particularly in educational, mentoring, or counseling roles.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, families, and school staff.
- Knowledge of academic support strategies, social-emotional learning, and college/career readiness programs.
- Ability to collect, analyze, and use data to drive student success and program improvements.
- A commitment to promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion in educational opportunities for all students.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, maintaing a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
- Willingness to engage in ongoing training and development to futher enchance skills and knowledge.
