Job Description
Title: Accounts Payable Clerk
Immediate Supervisor: Chief School Financial Officer
Minimum Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent
Associate Degree or three years experience in bookkeeping
Previous experience in accounting systems preferred
Skills and Abilities:
Basic computer and other office machine skills
Knowledge and experience with spreadsheet, database, and accounting software
Very good writing and oral communication skills
Essential Functions:
Demonstrates knowledge of Federal, State, and Local restrictions, regulations, guidelines, policies, and procedures related to the area of school finance
Records detail of district’s financial transactions on computerized accounting system
Receives, reviews, and processes all purchase requisitions
Receives, processes, and maintains record of all purchase orders
Maintains and updates vendor list and files
Receives and processes al invoices for payment
Prepares and submits monthly utilities tax payment
Maintains complete records of all accounts payable transactions
Generates and distributes department budget reports
Maintains finance MCS website
Performs other related duties as assigned by the CSFO
Physical Requirements:
Is well-groomed and appropriately dressed
Represents the school system, school, and all school personnel in a positive manner at all times
Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Classified Personnel.
