Morgan County Quality Water District is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Water Distribution/Treatment Operator to join our Field Crew team. This position is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of the rural water distribution system and treatment systems to ensure safe, reliable drinking water for the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate, maintain, and repair water distribution systems and water treatment systems
  • Monitor system pressures, storage tank levels, water usage, and water quality
  • Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance
  • Respond to water main breaks and emergency service calls
  • Install, repair, and replace water meters
  • Maintain accurate operational and maintenance records
  • Assist with system improvements and infrastructure upgrades

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Valid driving license (Class A CDL preferred or ability to obtain in 12 months)
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and perform physical labor

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Class A CDL
  • Experience operating heavy equipment
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Requirements:

  • Must reside in Morgan County, Colorado or be willing to relocate to Morgan County within 3 months of date of hire.
  • Must undergo a pre-employment background check and DOT compliant screening

Work Schedule:

  • Monday – Friday, 7:30AM to 4PM
  • On-call rotation required
