WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We're looking for a compassionate and dependable Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Medical-Surgical team. The ideal candidate is patient-focused, organized, and committed to delivering high-quality nursing care under the direction of a Registered Nurse or provider. This individual thrives in a collaborative environment and is dedicated to providing exceptional care to every patient.
WHAT YOU GET TO DO
- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or provider.
- Assist with patient assessments and report changes in condition promptly.
- Administer medications and treatments within the scope of LPN practice and hospital policy.
- Monitor vital signs, collect specimens, and perform routine nursing procedures.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, mobility, hygiene, and comfort measures.
- Prepare patients for diagnostic tests, procedures, and treatments.
- Document patient care, observations, and interventions accurately in the electronic medical record.
- Reinforce patient and family education regarding medications, treatments, and discharge instructions.
- Collaborate with Registered Nurses, physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to support patient care.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient care environment.
- Follow infection prevention practices and hospital safety standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals.
WHAT WILL HELP YOU STAND OUT
- Current, unrestricted Louisiana Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
- Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Previous Medical-Surgical or acute care experience preferred.
- Strong communication, organization, and patient care skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Compassionate, dependable, and committed to providing excellent patient care.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team.

WHAT TO EXPECT
- A fast-paced inpatient Medical-Surgical environment caring for patients with a variety of medical conditions and post-operative needs.
- Twelve-hour shifts, including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and rotating schedules based on departmental needs.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing, and repositioning patients throughout the shift.
- Exposure to bloodborne pathogens, infectious diseases, and other healthcare-related hazards; appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided.
- Ability to safely lift and reposition patients using proper body mechanics and patient handling equipment.
- Must successfully complete all pre-employment requirements, including a background check, drug screen, and any applicable health screenings.
