WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We're looking for a compassionate, dependable, and patient-focused Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team. The ideal candidate is committed to providing exceptional care, enjoys working in a collaborative environment, and is passionate about improving the patient experience. This position works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse to provide direct patient care and support daily nursing operations.
WHAT YOU GET TO DO
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, and mobility.
- Measure and record vital signs, height, weight, and intake/output as directed.
- Assist patients with ambulation, transfers, positioning, and range-of-motion exercises.
- Observe and promptly report changes in patient condition to the licensed nurse.
- Answer patient call lights promptly and respond to patient needs with compassion and professionalism.
- Maintain patient rooms by ensuring cleanliness, safety, and organization.
- Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges.
- Collect specimens and perform routine patient care tasks as delegated.
- Document patient care activities accurately and timely in the electronic medical record, when applicable.
- Follow infection prevention protocols and hospital safety policies.
- Promote patient dignity, privacy, and confidentiality at all times.
- Collaborate with nurses and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals.
WHAT WILL HELP YOU STAND OUT
- Current Louisiana Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in good standing.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or obtained within the required timeframe.
- Previous hospital, long-term care, or healthcare experience preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

WHAT TO EXPECT
- A fast-paced inpatient healthcare environment caring for patients with a variety of medical needs.
- Twelve-hour shifts, including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and rotating schedules based on departmental needs.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, and assisting with patient transfers throughout the shift.
- Exposure to bloodborne pathogens, infectious diseases, and other healthcare-related hazards; appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided.
- Ability to safely lift and reposition patients using proper body mechanics and patient handling equipment.
- Must successfully complete all pre-employment requirements, including a background check, drug screen, and any applicable health screenings.
