The Nursing department at Morehead State University is accepting applications for a full-time position as an Academic Resources/Laboratory Coordinator/Sim Specialist. This is a 9-month appointment. The anticipated start date is January 5, 2026.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Academic Resources/Laboratory Coordinator/Simulation Specialist provides campus academic experiences for nursing students through campus laboratory activities and simulation of clinical nursing skills under the direction of the Department Chair. The Academic Resources/Laboratory Coordinator/Simulation Specialist teaches assigned classes to address specific learning outcomes in accordance with approved course descriptions and expected student learner outcomes as designed by faculty. Other responsibilities include maintaining the campus laboratory, multimedia equipment/software and providing academic counseling to students within the pre-licensure nursing programs as needed.
REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree in nursing required. Must hold current registered nurse (RN) license in the Commonwealth of Kentucky by the employment start date. Minimum of two years nursing experience within the immediate past five years in functional area of responsibility. Demonstrated experience in the use of computer hardware and software. Effective communication and interpersonal relationship skills.
Preferred credential is a national certification issued by the Society for Simulation in Healthcare.
Additional credentials that may be considered upon approval from the Department Chair, Provost, and President are 1) Successful completion of a simulation preparation program recognized by the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation (or the ability to obtain the certification within 12 months of appointment to the position); 2) Attendance at annual simulation conferences; 3) Completion of educational activities annually related to simulation.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Terminal degree and teaching experience.

Organizational Relationships
The Academic Resources/Laboratory Coordinator/Sim Specialist reports to the Department Chair of Nursing. Incumbent supervises nursing and work-study students as assigned. This position interacts with faculty, staff, students, and internal/external communities of interest.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods. Must be able to handle packages up to 25#.
