What are the responsibilities and job description for the LaCrosse Coach, Head Varsity Boys position at Moravian Academy?
HEAD VARSITY BOYS' LACROSSE COACH
Moravian Academy • Bethlehem, PA • Athletics
You know what it feels like to compete at the highest level, the focus at face-off, the satisfaction of a perfectly executed fast break, the sting of a loss that makes you train harder. Now imagine channeling everything you've learned as an athlete and a coach into building the next generation of lacrosse players.
Moravian Academy is searching for a Head Varsity Boys' Lacrosse Coach who leads with both intensity and purpose. This is not a placeholder role; it's an opportunity to shape a program for student-athletes in grades 6 through 12 who are hungry to be challenged, developed, and pushed toward their best.
You will own every dimension of the program: practice design, game-day strategy, scouting reports, athlete evaluations, and the culture that holds it all together. You'll collaborate closely with our Director of Athletics, mentor assistant coaches, and serve as the face of lacrosse to students, parents, faculty, and the broader Moravian Academy community.
At Moravian Academy, athletics are an extension of our mission: to develop young people who lead with character, compete with integrity, and pursue excellence in everything they do. The right coach for this role has lived those values on the field and models them every day.
Position Details: This is a seasonal position beginning immediately(for planning and occasional pre-season workouts) and running through the close of the spring athletic season. The role requires availability for after-school practices and games, with occasional travel to competitions outside the local area.
What You Bring
- Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred
- Minimum four years of coaching experience in boys' lacrosse at the club, high school, or collegiate level
- Playing experience in lacrosse; you've competed, and it shows in how you teach the game
- Demonstrated ability to develop individual athletes and build cohesive, competitive teams
- Strong communication skills with student-athletes, parents, faculty, and the public
- Knowledge of Colonial League and PIAA rules and regulations
- A coaching philosophy rooted in excellence, accountability, and genuine care for student-athletes
