What the role is all about...
The Area Controller will support a market consisting of 5 regional business units and 12 branch locations. This is a true 'operations controller' position and involves much more than just financial reporting. In addition to leading month-end close efforts, the Area Controller will partner with branch and regional leadership to help improve operational accounting, plan & optimize budgets, and collaborate with other departments to improve efficiency and financial performance for each separately managed P&L.
This position is on-site 4 days per week in either our Fairfield, OH location or Livonia, MI location. Up to 50% travel is required during budgeting season and 1-2 times per month during remainder of year.
Ideal qualifications for an Area Controller at Aspen Grove are...
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting and/or Finance preferred; CPA is a plus
- 5 years of finance and accounting experience, including leading month-end close and annual budgeting initiatives
- High-level of proficiency within Microsoft Excel and ERP Systems
- Prior experience support a de-centralized business with multiple P&Ls
- Ability and willingness to travel to branch locations to develop relationships with operational leadership and branch administrative support
