As we continue to grow, we are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to manage the day-to-day financial operations of our brokerage.
Position Overview
This is a hands-on role requiring strong attention to detail, a high degree of confidentiality, and the ability to work independently in a small office environment. Hours are flexible and commensurate with the demands of the role — we are open to both full-time and qualified part-time candidates.
Key Responsibilities
· Process payroll (ADP) and manage employee benefit administration
· Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including owner distributions and agent commission tracking
· Maintain sales and rental escrow accounts, ensuring daily balancing
· Perform full month-end close — journal entries, bank reconciliations, balance sheet updates, and financial statement preparation
· Assist Rental Manager with rent calculations, rental arrivals notifications, and renter/owner correspondence
· Calculate and file State and Local Sales Tax
· Process 1099s for independent contractors
· Manage security deposit tracking and refunds
· Record wire transfers and deposit checks
· Create owner invoices and manage cleaning company invoicing
· Communicate with insurance auditors annually and provide required documentation
· Manage petty cash
· Create reports, email templates, and statements as needed
Qualifications
· Minimum 3–5 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in real estate, property management, or a related field
· Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel (advanced Excel preferred)
· Experience with ADP payroll processing
· Familiarity with escrow account management and FREC compliance a strong plus
· High level of integrity and confidentiality
· Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently
