Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Excavator Operator to safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment for land clearing, grading, and site preparation projects. This role plays a key part in supporting construction and land development by performing digging, trenching, and material handling. The ideal candidate has proven equipment operating skills, a strong safety mindset, and the ability to work effectively with a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate excavators to dig, grade, trench, and move materials as directed by project management.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and routine maintenance (fluid checks, greasing, cleaning).
- Work closely with ground crews, truck drivers, and Foreman to maintain efficient site operations.
- Adhere to all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and environmental standards.
- Report mechanical problems or safety hazards promptly to supervisors.
- Assist with additional land clearing or construction-related tasks when needed.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience operating excavators (required).
- Knowledge of excavation techniques, safe equipment operation, and industry best practices.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather and terrain conditions.
- Strong communication skills and teamwork abilities.
- Willingness to travel to job sites (per diem provided where applicable).
- Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit and operate equipment for long periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. for maintenance or repair needs.
