Senior Data Engineer

Brief Description

The Senior Data Engineer leads the design, development, and maintenance of our data architecture. This professional manages integrations between our data and other systems, builds out new automated processes, and monitors and manages existing data pipelines. As a key member of our data team, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement robust data solutions that support business objectives and enable data-driven decision-making.

This is a full-time, salaried, position is open to candidates in the US who are eligible to work without current or future sponsorship.

This position is a hybrid position for the Westminster, CO office.

The salary range for this role is $90,000-100,000, depending on skills and expertise.

Your Impact:

• Handle support requests from across the enterprise, providing expertise and guidance.
• Design, implement, and maintain scalable data pipelines for extracting, transforming, and loading (ETL) data from various sources into our data warehouse.
• Optimize and enhance existing data pipelines for improved performance, reliability, and efficiency.
• Implement and maintain data warehouse architecture to ensure seamless data integration and accessibility.
• Manage and optimize databases to ensure seamless data flow and interoperability.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to identify root causes and implement preventive measures.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior members of the data engineering team.
• Conduct code reviews and enforce engineering best practices.
• Complete job-related assignments as required.
  
  
  

Your Profile:

• 3 years’ experience in data engineering, with a focus on building and optimizing data pipelines.
• Experience with SQL and Snowflake including:
• Query performance tuning and optimization
• Use of clustering, partitioning, and micro-partitions
• Working with semi-structured data (VARIANT, JSON)
• Experience building and maintaining ELT/ETL integrations using tools such as Fivetran.
• Advanced experience developing analytics engineering workflows with dbt (data build tool) including:
• Designing scalable data models
• Implementing incremental models and snapshots
• Writing and maintaining tests
• Handling schema change detection
• Managing dbt in CI/CD pipelines
• Experience building data models optimized for BI tools (e.g., Power BI or Tableau), including:
• Star schema design
• Aggregation strategies
• Query performance and optimization for dashboards
• Strong focus on data quality and governance, including:
• Defining and enforcing data validation rules
• Identifying and resolving data anomalies
• Documenting data lineage and business logic
• Experience with version control (e.g., Git) and CI/CD practices for data pipelines and dbt projects
• Preferred Platform/Tools Experience:
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Experience working with marketing/ad data sources and ad platforms such as Google Ads, Meta, Search Ads 360 (SA360), and The Trade Desk (TTD).
• Experience integrating and working with CRM / eCRM systems such as Salesforce and Engaging Networks
• A solid understanding of data modeling concepts and data warehousing.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders (analytics, marketing, product)
• Adapt to changing directions and handle competing demands effectively.
• Are inquisitive with a creative approach to problem-solving.
• Use excellent critical thinking skills to assess complex data engineering challenges.
• Bring strong prioritization and organizational skills.
