This role serves as a subject matter resource on HR compliance matters, helping to identify risk, interpret regulatory requirements, and implement practical, compliant solutions that support business objectives.
Operating with a strong sense of ownership and accountability, this individual manages HR compliance programs, policies, and processes, including wage and hour compliance, leave administration, workplace accommodations, employee notifications, I-9 compliance, workers' compensation administration, policy governance, audits, reporting, and regulatory filings. The HR Compliance Specialist continuously monitors legislative and regulatory developments, assesses organizational impact, and drives necessary updates to policies, practices, and procedures.
This position serves as a trusted partner to HR and Legal, helping to strengthen compliance, mitigate organizational risk, and support effective and efficient HR operations across the enterprise.

Your impact:
- Apply knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws to ensure HR policies, practices, and programs remain compliant
- Maintain and update employee handbooks, policies, and HR documentation to reflect current legal and regulatory requirements
- Partner with Legal and HR leadership to interpret regulations and provide practical, compliant guidance
- Monitor regulatory changes and proactively assess impact to the organization, recommending updates as needed
- Manage compliance-related processes, including wage & hour, leave of absence, workplace accommodations, employee notifications, I-9 compliance, and workers’ compensation
- Manage and support audits, reporting, and required filings (e.g., EEO reporting), ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Partner with HR teams to ensure compliant implementation of programs and processes
- Identify potential compliance risks and recommend solutions to mitigate exposure
- Support the development and delivery of compliance-related training and communications
- 3–5 years of experience in HR compliance or a related HR function
- Strong working knowledge of employment laws and regulations (federal, state, and local)
- Experience maintaining policies, handbooks, or compliance documentation
- Experience supporting audits, reporting, or regulatory requirements preferred
- Experience with workers’ compensation processes preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret and apply complex information
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to interpret regulations and translate them into practical guidance
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Effective communication and stakeholder partnership skills
