Position Summary
Moore Mechanical is seeking a motivated HVAC Commercial Retrofit Apprentice to support retrofit and upgrade projects across commercial facilities. This role is designed for individuals looking to develop hands-on experience in the HVAC trade while working alongside experienced technicians on complex mechanical systems.
Pay/Compensation
$18 - $22 per hour (depending on experience)

As an HVAC Commercial Retrofit Apprentice, you will assist in the installation, replacement, and upgrading of HVAC systems in existing commercial buildings. You'll gain exposure to a wide range of equipment and jobsite environments while building foundational skills in mechanical systems, safety practices, and construction workflows. This is a growth-oriented role with a clear path toward becoming a skilled HVAC technician.

Responsibilities
- Assist with removal and installation of commercial HVAC systems (RTUs, split systems, boilers, etc.)
- Support retrofit work including system upgrades, replacements, and modifications
- Help install ductwork, piping, and related mechanical components
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, organized job site
- Follow all safety protocols and OSHA standards
- Read and interpret basic blueprints and technical drawings (with training)
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members
- Participate in on-the-job training and skill development
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong interest in HVAC or mechanical trades
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to perform physical work (lifting, climbing, working in various conditions)
- Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented
- Valid driver's license preferred
