Forensic Biomechanical Expert Witness

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Forensic Biomechanical Expert Witness to join our team. In this role, you will apply your expertise in biomechanical studies to investigate and analyze personal injury related accident reconstructions including slip/trips, falls from height, and car accidents. This position is specifically geared toward someone with at least a Bachelor's, but preferably Master's or above as well as some experience in claims/litigation and accident mechanics. The role will start out shadowing another expert and eventually build into performing all of the tasks of an expert working mostly for attorneys in supporting both plaintiff and defense positions.

Duties

• Provide litigation support services to clients throughout the lifecycle of their engagement
• Perform inspections for litigation projects working both alone and with other experts on joint projects
• Recreate accidents and perform relevant literary research to support assertions in litigation reports
• Draft reports for use in support of litigation clients
• Testify as needed in deposition and trial environments
• Expand business to include projects specific to your experience (depends on background and experience of candidate)

Experience

• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a biomechanics or related discipline
• At least 4 years of experience in claims/litigation and accident mechanics
• Must have a working knowledge of the structure and function of biological systems and their interactions during mechanics and movement, specifically accidents or injuries
• Literacy in scientific research and studies to support your biomechanical discipline
• Strong writing skills to clearly convey and explain scientific information to those outside of the scientific field (e.g. lawyers, claims adjusters)
• Proficiency in MS Office products

Must have a very good social presence; we are very experienced in litigation and will require someone with exceptional ability to speak in front of an audience and maintain their composure under extreme pressure (trial testimony). The interview process will include a "cross examination" portion that most typical engineers will fail.

Please note the salary is a starting salary and is intended to increase as book of business grows, likely within the first 6 months.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
