Moonlite Bar-B-Q Inn is looking for dependable, friendly people to join our Carryout team.

No restaurant experience is required. This is an entry-level position, and we provide paid, on-the-job training.

Schedule

We have full-time and part-time positions available on both shifts:

Typical First Shift: approximately 8:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
Second Shift: approximately 3:00 p.m.–close, typically finishing between 9:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.

Weekend availability is required.

Applicants must be 18 years of age or older because this position involves operating commercial food-preparation equipment.

About the Job

Our Carryout Team Members do much more than take orders. You'll work directly with customers while learning how to prepare, portion, cut, package, and check carryout orders according to Moonlite's standards.

What You'll Do

As a Carryout / To-Go Team Member, you'll:

• Greet customers in a friendly and helpful manner
• Take customer orders accurately
• Prepare and assemble carryout orders
• Learn Moonlite's menu so you can answer customer questions
• Cut, portion, package, and prepare food according to established procedures
• Safely operate equipment used in the department, including a commercial band saw and deli slicer, after completing required training
• Check orders for accuracy and quality before they are given to customers
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area
• Clean and sanitize food-preparation equipment and utensils
• Follow proper handwashing, sanitation, and food-safety procedures
• Work with other members of the Moonlite team and assist with other duties when needed

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who:

• Is 18 years of age or older
• Is available to work weekends
• Is friendly and comfortable interacting with customers
• Is dependable and arrives for scheduled shifts on time and ready to work
• Can listen carefully and accurately take customer orders
• Is willing to learn Moonlite's menu and food-preparation procedures
• Is comfortable learning to safely use commercial food-preparation equipment
• Can stay organized and work efficiently during busy periods
• Works well as part of a team
• Takes pride in providing good food and good service
• Follows food-safety and sanitation procedures

Previous restaurant or food-service experience is helpful, but not required.

Physical Requirements

This is an active restaurant position. Team members must be able to:

• Stand and work for extended periods
• Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
• Bend, kneel, twist, stoop, reach, and grasp
• Reach above the head and below the waist
• Use stairs as required
• Safely work around commercial food-preparation equipment
