Mission: Take all things non-product/engineering off the team’s plates so they can focus 100% on product.
Scope of work:
- Finance: Basic FP&A, invoicing, vendor payments, budgeting hygiene.
- Professional Services: manage tax, legal, real estate brokers, insurance, and other external partners.
- Office & Logistics: own supplies, space, and day-to-day operational execution.
- People Ops: offers, onboarding, ordering laptops, IT setup, light HR compliance.
- General Ops Mindset: thrive in ambiguity, build lightweight processes, move fast without bureaucracy.
Signal Markers
- Has set up or run finance/HR stacks at an early-stage startup.
- Comfortable with tools like QuickBooks, Gusto, Brex/Ramp, Notion, Slack, Google Workspace.
- Can show prior experience as the “catch-all” operator in a small, high-velocity team.
- Bias for action: scrappy, resourceful, solves problems before founders notice them.
