Collision Repair Painter Position
The Painter is a critical part of the repair team. He or she is responsible for all aspects of painting, including masking vehicles, sanding, applying base, color and clear coats. The Paint Tech plays a key role in delivering quality, service, and customer satisfaction.
Job Responsibilities:
Has the ability to focus on meeting production schedules
Carefully inspects each vehicle and repair order prior to prep
Prepares vehicles for paint, wet/dry sanding, masking and buffing
Removes all dust and other particles from prepared panels
Masking all panels to minimize tapelines and overspray on vehicle
Using basic hand tools and other small power tools in a safe manner
Cleaning and wiping down vehicles prior to being moved into the booth
Mixing paint to manufacturer’s standards
Keeps up with the latest tools and technology
Maintains a neat, safe and clean work environment
Works effectively as part of a team
Displays respect towards co-workers
Proactively communicates concerns and new ideas in a constructive manner
