Role Description
The Plant Manager oversees all daily plant operations, including production performance, staffing, quality, safety, maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role requires a hands‑on leader who is passionate about developing teams, solving problems, and driving efficiency in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all plant operations to ensure safety, quality, and productivity goals are met.
- Provide strong leadership to supervisors, leads, and production staff across all shifts.
- Establish and maintain a strong culture of safety, compliance, and accountability.
- Develop and implement process improvements to reduce downtime and increase overall efficiency.
- Collaborate with Maintenance to support preventative maintenance programs and long‑term equipment reliability.
- Manage staffing, scheduling, performance reviews, coaching, and employee development.
- Monitor production metrics, adjust priorities, and ensure resources align with business needs.
- Partner with Quality to maintain high standards, support corrective actions, and ensure audit readiness.
- Assist with budgeting, cost control, and resource allocation for labor and materials.
- Drive operational decisions that support long‑term strategic goals.
Qualifications
Required:
- 5 years of manufacturing leadership experience (Plant Manager, Production Manager, Operations Manager, or similar).
- Strong understanding of safety standards (OSHA) and quality systems.
- Experience with process improvement, Lean, or continuous improvement.
- Exceptional communication and team‑building skills.
- Proven ability to lead change and drive results in a fast‑paced environment.
Preferred:
- Experience with plastics, extrusion, or related manufacturing industries.
- Knowledge of ISO standards or previous audit experience.
- Mechanical aptitude or familiarity with industrial equipment.
