About Human Resources:

  •  Montrose Regional Health Human Resources focuses on actively advancing and improving our workforce with the long-term goal of improving the entire facility.

 

Essential Functions:

Operations Management:

  • Implements strategies, policies, procedures and practices linked to the MRH Mission, Vision, Values, Strategic Plans, and Key Performance Indicators to improve department services, recruit, retain, engage and motivate caregivers.
  • Supports the MRH Leadership Team through coaching, consultation and collaborative alliances to resolve operational issues and structure win-win solutions.
  • Promotes, participates in and facilitates quality improvement - departmentally as well as hospital-wide. Demonstrates MRH Leadership Values in the design and implementation of effective quality improvement programs.
  • Based on department function and scope of services develops, implements and maintains a safe environment for patients, visitors, caregivers and others providing services at MRH.
  • Follows and administers the MRH policies in a consistent manner. Policy deviations are discussed and approved by the CHRO.

Human Resource Management:

  • Provides overall direction to the department. Plans for the appropriate level of staffing and structure in the department to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Encourages and supports staff technical training and skill building to ensure a high level of service and support for caregivers.
  • To assure compliance and sound decision-making, maintains a broad, up-to-date knowledge in the areas of department function and scope of services.
  • Hires, orients and trains new caregivers to ensure that duties are performed in a competent and safe manner.
  • Communicates hospital-wide and specific department information to caregivers. Provides feedback to caregivers to recognize, reward and improve individual and group performance.
  • Assures compliance with HR files and requirements to meet regulatory requirements including The Joint Commission, CMS, state and other regulatory agencies.

Strategic Management:

  • Develops department goals, objectives and measurements linked to MRH Mission, Vision, Values, Strategic Plans, and Key Performance Indicators. Actively promotes the organization by maintaining visibility and a professional image in the organization.

Financial Management:

  • Analyzes and develops budget and financial targets for the Human Resources department. Develops financial goals, objectives and measurement criteria for continual department and organizational improvement. Regularly monitors performance and makes adjustments to control variances.
  • Orders supplies utilizing the MRH approved process and procedure.

 

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

Physical Demand Characteristics:

  • In an 8 hour work day, the position requires sitting and moving around intermittently to assist customers and attend activities outside the department. The position requires occasional squatting, bending and kneeling, reaching, and twisting -- there is minimal exposure to dust, fumes or gases. Caregivers in this position must be able to carry up to 10 pounds frequently and 11-24 pounds occasionally. This position requires that the caregiver push and/or pull up to 10 pounds frequently and 11-24 pounds occasionally

Equipment Used:

  • Personal Computer with multiple software, Human Resource Information System, Audio-visual equipment, Office machinery

Visual Hearing and Dexterity Demands:

  • Requires concentrated visual skills and the ability to operate phones, personal computer, audio-visual equipment and office machinery.

Working Conditions:

  • Works in a clean, well-lighted temperature controlled, ventilated area. May have limited exposure to communicable disease

 

Qualifications & Skills:

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred, PHR or SPHR is desirable

Minimum Work Experience:

  • Three years of HR Leadership or supervisory experience.

Required Skills:

  • Job Knowledge and skills: To ensure compliance and sound human resource decision-making, must maintain a broad general knowledge in the areas of Employee Relations, Management Practices, Training and Development, Compensation and Benefits, Labor Relations, Health and Safety and state and federal laws. Must be able to research and analyze data and information in order to problem solve and make sound decisions. * Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels in the organization (oral, written, audio-visual presentations). * Must be able to respond to customer inquiries in an accurate and timely manner. * Must be able to direct and delegate tasks to HR Staff.
