Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility
- Monitor and record vital signs, intake/output, and changes in resident condition
- Assist with feeding and ensure residents receive proper nutrition and hydration
- Reposition and transfer residents safely using proper body mechanics and equipment
- Support residents' comfort, dignity, and emotional well-being
- Document care provided accurately and in a timely manner
- Communicate observations and concerns to nursing staff promptly
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized resident environment
- Follow all infection control and safety protocols
- Current, unencumbered CNA certification in the state of Iowa
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred, but not required
- CPR certification a plus
- Strong communication skills and a genuine compassion for elderly and disabled residents
- Ability to work 2nd shift and meet the physical demands of the role (lifting, standing, walking for extended periods)
- Reliable, punctual, and a team player
