Job Summary:
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides essential care and support to residents in a Skilled Nursing or Long-Term Care facility. This role involves assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), monitoring health conditions, and ensuring the comfort and safety of residents. The CNA works under the supervision of registered nurses (RNs) and licensed practical nurses (LPNs) to maintain high-quality care and support for residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
- Monitor and report changes in residents' physical and mental health to nursing staff.
- Assist with mobility, transfers, and positioning to ensure resident comfort and safety.
- Help with routine tasks such as taking vital signs, recording weight, and documenting care.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to residents.
- Follow infection control protocols and maintain a clean, safe environment for residents.
- Ensure residents' rights and dignity are upheld at all times.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a state-approved CNA training program.
- Current CNA certification in good standing.
